What operating systems does BulkRemoteAdmin support?

BulkRemoteAdmin runs on following Windows versions (NT, 2000, XP, 2003).

What are the requirements from the computers administered by BulkRemoteAdmin?

  1. They must have been the Windows stations (no matter which version of Windows).
  2. DCOM service must be started (by default)
  3. Administrator privileges must allow the use of WMI (they are by default)
  4. All the computers (the controller and the administered ones) must belong to the same domain. Note: Not the workgroup, but the domain.

Why the process executed on the administered computers does not show its UI?

WMI prevents from showing the UI in the remote session.

What are the limitations of BulkRemoteAdmin?

BulkRemoteAdmin enables rich choice of operations that can be performed on every administered computer. If some desired operation is missing from the list of possibilities, there is always a possibility to execute any process or any script you want on these computers. Therefore, there are no limitations of administration that you can perform using BulkRemoteAdmin.

What is the maximal amount of computers that can be administered at once using BulkRemoteAdmin?

There is no limitation to the number of computers that can be administered at once.

Why should I store the execution details? Do I really need them?

In case you want to review the log of the whole administration execution and find out the problems of execution, it is highly recommended to store the execution details. These details can always be reviewed every time you open BulkRemoteAdmin with the corresponding list of computers and/or corresponding Rule of tasks.

What are the limitations of the trial version?

    It is limited for 30 days only, and has the following performance limitations:
  1. Not all the tasks are allowed in trial version
  2. The maximal number of computers that can be administered at once in 5 (in the regular version, this number is not limited).
